Beyond Category creates two kind of reports: 1) Single Album Reports and 2) Album Lists.
Single Album Reports
Beyond Category will create reports of individual albums containing most of the information entered in the Albums window. This includes track details and personnel.
There are two options for the report: 1) Report the collective personnel for the albums or 2) report the personnel for each track(s). On the option for personnel by track, the personnel is printed when it changes by track.
BC will print as many albums as are selected in the album list on the Albums window. The image above shows the menu selections for the reports. The images below show the two different kinds of reports for the album Kind of Blue.
Album List Reporting
Beyond Category can produce reports listing albums based on any combination of Album Tags and Formats. Below is an image of how to access the window for generating the Album List Reports. Use the Views->Reports->Album List menu item to bring up the window for this
Contained in the window are lists of Album Tags, Formats, and Locations. Select any combination of item(s) from the lists and press the Make List button. The report will be generated filtered by the selections made.
There are 3 options for the output.
- HTML – Output will be sent to an file in html format. A dialog will be presented where the location and the name of the file can be specified.
- Print – Output will be directed to a printer.
- View – Output will be directed to a window for viewing.
Miscellaneous List Reporting
Beyond Category also produces many lists based on various criteria. These lists are displayed in a window, but they can also be printed. See the page describing lists for more information.
