These menu pages contain basic descriptions of the menus you will use on the Beyond Category application. The images show the Macintosh layout, but the Windows layout is almost the same. The minor differences will be noted in the detailed menu item descriptions. Menu items not mentioned, such as the Services menu in the Beyond Category menu below, are not related to Beyond Category.
Menu items are contextual. By that, we mean that if a menu is not available for use at the time it is displayed, the menu text will be dimmed. For instance, if a database is not open then the Open DB menu item will be in dark text but the Close DB menu item will be in dimmed text. Once a database is open, then the reverse it true; the Open DB text will be dimmed and the Close DB text will be dark.
Beyond Category Menu
This menu will only be used on the Mac version of the software. The items here are placed in a different menu location on the Windows version and that location will be noted in the description.
About Beyond Category
This menu will show the About window giving details about the application. In the Windows version, this item will show under the Edit window
Settings
Use this to access the Preferences window where you can set values for any of the popup menus that appear in any of the windows, date displays, and other miscellaneous stylings. This item will appear on the Edit menu in the Windows version and it is called Brian Preferences.
Quit Beyond Category
Use this to quit the app. This item is called Exit in the Windows version.
