Below is an image showing the Edit menu for the Beyond Category application. The Windows File menu will be similar. Differences will be noted in the menu item descriptions below. Items not mentioned are OS related and not used specifically by Beyond Category. Specifically, these are Undo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Clear, Select All, Start Dictation and Emoji & Symbols.
Edit Menu Items
Find
This feature is active for list menu windows that are frontmost. It will find entries in the list based on the text entered in the selection field. More information can be found in the description of the Beyond Category List Generation page.
Find Next
As with the above Find menu item, this is also active for list menu windows that are frontmost. It will find next entry in the list based on the text entered in the selection field. More information can be found in the description of the Beyond Category List Generation page.
New Record
This menu activates the pressing of a new button on windows that have that feature. It is in the menu to support the use of the Cmd-N (Mac) or Ctrl-N (Windows) hotkey for those that prefer to keep their hands on the keyboard rather than use the mouse to press the button.
New Composer Record
This menu activates the pressing of a new composer button on Songs panel of the Songs/Personnel/Label window. Since that panel has two New buttons, we have to have a different hotkey to distinguish it from the New Song button.
Edit Record
As with the New Record menu, this menu item supports the pressing of the Edit button for those windows that have it.
Clear Album Flags
This menu allows for clearing (unselecting) ALL album window Flag checkboxes that may have been used. There is no undo for this, so use carefully.
